So 2020 was a complete disaster for everyone (nearly) however almost 2 years later and the country seems to be getting back to some what form of normality.

What’s happening with JRS?? – Well we seem to be doing ok commissions are now steadily flowing in (and for this I thank each and everyone for their support over the time we have been doing this)

A custom reskin of the streamlined Coronation named after my best friend for her birthday

In the last year we have started making a name for ourselves (in a good way with all (I hope)) reskins have been happening, we have also been working alongside Digital Traction helping with the GER C53 (LNER J70) we are also working alongside BLS testing reskins for them aswell as working on our own projects.

Other work has included preparation for our Youtube series (which has a trackplan based on the model railway i used to help operate (Moorside Valley Railway), as well as JRS|| On Test (we have started uploading more footage on YouTube of our projects

Im hoping to remember to start updating this more with written reviews, as well as scenario ideas.

There will be a page with a list of all of our released reskins aswell as upcoming projects and announcements

JULY UPDATE

It’s that time again where we update you on what’s been going on.

Well first of all our first set of reskins have been released via Peppercorn Workshop, This is the LNER Raven A2 in BR Lined Black version along with a a BR Brunswick Green livery, the Lined Black version has a late created tender where as the Brunswick Green has a late and early created tender, Each come with Quick-Drive consists. (Download your Raven A2s from the reskins tab).

Our second and third reskins are coming along and are now into the testing stage (The N15 reskins are a BR Blue and a BR Lined Black) these will the require the VP/SSS Newletter subscription for this to work as well as the normal N15 Sir Lamiel pack.

During lockdown we have been building a scenario pack for the South Devon Railway from SSS, some of these scenarios are now in testing before we build more to ensure they work correctly, we are also doing a scenario pack for the GoldenGoldSmiths Paignton & Dartmouth Steam Railway.

JUNE UPDATE

SO. we are going to be doing a monthly post on here each month to keep everyone up to date with what is going on at the present moment in time.

We are aiming to get more stuff published in the way of locomotive, stock and route reviews and in depth looks, we are also looking into streaming more on youtube, this will be more JRS – Heritage Runs, as well as more mainline runs to explore the route.

We will be starting this with 3 JRS Heritage runs along the SVR (Severn Valley Railway) with West Country Pacific 34027 TAW VALLEY, as well as the SDR (South Devon Railway) with Class 50 50002 SUPERB.

ALSO – coming up we will be exploring one of the most anticipated routes Stainmore, Shap & The Eden Valley route, with the run from Lakeside, shap, Tebay, Penrith & Barnard Castle (Various videos will be published).

We will be doing a run from Penrith through to lakeside using 70013 OLIVER CROMWELL this will have the high intensity lamp and a Lakes Express along with a rake of Armstrong Powerhouse MK1 coaches

In terms of locomotives we have a review of the recently released SSS/Victory Works GWR 7800 Manor class (a much needed update) and another highly anticipated loco from Bossman Games the Rebuilt Merchant Navy locomotives.

While we are in the process of planning our Scenario pack for the South Devon Railway, we are also looking at doing a Railtour using various routes (Mainly the East Coast Mainline from London Kings Cross to Edinburgh or aberdeen) this is possibly with Greasly A4 60009 UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA with a couple of added bonuses (a high intensity lamp and a headboard – TBD).

We are also in talks with Peppercorn Workshop, who are kind enough to be releasing our reskins, the first 2 that will be out are the Caledonia Works Raven A2 in BR Lined Black and BR Brunswick Green (which includes early and late crested tenders).

We are also in the process of doing some Quick-Drive consists which will feature steam and diesel, these will also (hopefully) be released via Peppercorn Workshop aswell, (A full list of the consist will be added in a seperate Readme file).

OUR CONTENT

So as we are doing more in the world of Train Simulator (much more than we originally anticipated) We are now designing a website that will not only help show our work but in the same time allow you to download and own some of the items we create (we are hoping to get some help in doing this from a few other established members of the community).

Several reskins that we have done (including the old IHH model of 71000 DUKE OF GLOUCESTER) has received a lot of interest, however this particular locomotive will unfortunately not be released due to the sheer amount of work thats being put into it (brand new particles and scripting, sounds – basically the works)

When an item is ready we will upload some pictures and video footage to the JRS – Reskins page on here showing the rolling stock off this will then be uploaded along with a readme file so you can ensure you have all the appropriate requirements needed for the locomotive (mainly if it includes Child Objects) normal reskins will just require the base model which will be noted on the file name.

The website hosted through Jimdo – https://jrs-jordans-railway-simulator.jimdosite.com/ is currently work in progress and hasnt got anything on just the main parts. Once this has got more content on the we will allow everyone to see the website in its full glory

THE WORLDS NUMBER 1 ENGINE

May 12th 2020 75 years ago the Rev. Wilbert Awdry, telling jis son recovering from Measles the story of the engines on the Island of Sodor.

Characters such as: Thomas, Edward, Henry and Gordon aswell as all their friend and the adventures of the characters on The Fat Controllers Railway. The First stories (The Three Railway Engines) mainly featured Edward, Henry & Gordon, and the stories of Edward helping Gordon up the hill, Henry getting bricked up in a tunnel after being afraid of the rain.

The main title character Thomas turned up in book 2. aptly named Thomas The Tank Engine, and thus a franchise was created. and for 75 years Thomas and his friends have been entertaining kids and families since.

In the mid 1980’s Thomas The Tank Engine entered a whole new era, by broadcasting to the country and world, Britt Allcroft Productions, David Mitton, Mike O’Donnell, Junior Campbell and Ringo Starr as the narrator for seasons 1-2 Season 3 onwards Michael Angelis took over the reigns.

In the millenium Thomas hit another milestone in his first feature length Special Thomas & The Magic Railroad. since then thomas has been through many changes from Stories, animation, narration and the demeanor of the show.

To celebrate this (yes i know we are late as its not uploaded yet) we are doing a special run using Thomas and his faithful coaches Annie & Clarabel (once we have edited some sounds)

May Time Update

So what has been happening lately??

Well with the ongoing world pandemic (Covid-19) meaning more time for Train simulator, this has meant more time scenario building. as well as some other things – more on that shortly.

SCENARIO BUILDING – we are currently developing a scenario pack to use with the Steam Sound Supreme – South Devon Railway which will look at aspects of the railway including a mainline visitor (For a steam gala) there will be passenger and freight duties also included will be other scenarios which will be able to give the driver of the locomotive more scope on how the railway operates.

MORE SCENARIOS – Another part of the scenarios we have been looking at will be the recording and uploading of more scenarios of the scenarios in game, this will be from Standard, Career and Training/Tutorials.

REVIEWS – As well as the tutorials we are also looking to develop more video based reviews of the locomotives, this will look at locomotives that would be suitable for the routes (IE. Victory Works Manor along the Falmouth Branch). we are also looking into in depth reviews for the Routes of Train Simulator,

ROUTE RUNS – We have started a new series over on Youtube, JRS – Heritage Runs where we take a locomotive that is normally or previously based at the Railway (our first was BR STD 9F 92214 in BR Lined Black with a run along the NYMR) we will be opening this up on our Youtube where everyone can see what locomotive on a particulcar route.

RESKINS – The big and main thing we have started doing this lockdown is RESKINNING, we started this as an experiment, however its one thing we have really started enjoying so this is something that is now currently sticking around, some of our reskins will soon be appearing in some Train Simulator Series on Youtube.

JRS – WELCOME TO 2020

So 2019 is now over and moving to the future in 2020 We have been thinking about what we want to do in the new year.

BUT FIRST….. JRS would like to thank everyone for all their support for 2019 on all our social media outlets.

As for 2020 we are looking into developing more ideas (we are going to avoid to a youtube series loosely based on Thomas The Tank Engine – simply because there is already that many established ones out there most ideas have been used) HOWEVER – we are looking to develop more ideas for Youtube including More livestreams more uploads and cross camera streaming.

In regards to Youtube and the whole COPPA saga we have decided to put a blanket policy over our youtube meaning its not designed for kids (now even though our current content does not have commentary this will be changing in 2020 and during live-streams we will have other developers in with us which means we can not maintain the language that everyone will say so to be safe the blanket policy is in place from January 3rd, a disclaimer will appear at the beginning of the stream if other content developers are involved or included in the stream. (that is all we are saying on that whole situation)

For our Facebook we are now touching 70 likes we would like this to touch 100 before the end of January so please please share our content. (once this happens we are looking to have a prize giveaway)

Our other Social Media Outlets are currently quiet however we are looking to expand more on our Instagram and our Twitter, we are also planning on developing our website more aswell bringing out more content more regular.

One thing we would like to to start working alongside developers to help promote content and new releases as well as first looks, this is something that will take time as we need to establish ourselves more as a content creator, before this happens.

In October 2019 we attended our first model railway exhibition and this is something we would love to do more of so if anyone knows a model railway show that would enjoy something different please do get in touch using any of our social media.

Towards the back end of the year (October/November) we are looking at doing a 24HR live-stream fundraiser on Youtube with Various other content makers to help raise money and awareness about homelessness over the winter months (More details to follow this once we can confirm everything)

BUT FOR NOW WE HOPE EVERYONE HAS AN INCREDIBLE 2020

WHO ARE WE & WHAT DO WE DO

Our new blog which is mainly about Train Simulator 2019, looking at locomotives, stock, routes & Scenarios.

We look into developing our own scenarios which when the time comes (once the AI is complete) then these will be released on the Steam store workshop and through our blog.

Since playing the Simulator again (after selling my old PC 3 Years ago) coming back to it and picking up from where we left off.

So why do a Blog?

  • We Already have Facebook & Twitter which get updated regularly but since these platforms (<- Ha train jokes) mainly focus on pictures we thought a blog would help those who –
  • A. Don’t have facebook or Twitter
  • B. For more in depth Reviews and looks at aspects of Train Simulator 2019

So Why read our blog

  • Because we are a small independent person who doesn’t work for any of the major companies
  • I am someone who just enjoys the game and wants to help people discover it more.

What sort of content will be here

This Blog will be looking at loads of different aspects of Train Simulator 2019 (and possibly some other railway based games)

The reviews of the game will be in depth and enjoyable with both pictures and videos with the links to our YouTube channel posted in the review.
